RDX Review – The 2010 Acura RDX is definitely going to be getting fairly the makeover and this beautiful car is going to feel and look different. This small premium crossover suv gives great passenger and cargo capacity while maintaining a high level of handling. Amongst car fanatics, the most intriguing feature of this Acura suv is the turbo 4-cylinder engine.
The 2010 Accura RDX receives numerous changes leading to a more aggressive, sporty appearance. The RDX exterior styling further emphasizes the crossover’s sporty athleticism. Large wheel arches, aggressively raked body sides, steeply raked windscreen and a short rear overhang generate a taut and muscular presence.
The RDX 2010 will get a new front fascia, Acura’s signature front grille, a hood with a new front edge design and up to date HID headlights that are now controlled by a standard automatic on/off function. The headlight’s new design incorporates a “smoke style chrome plating treatment and complements the angular pattern set by the Acura grille. On the rear, a more aggressive bumper fascia, rectangular exhaust finishers, revised taillights and satin finish trim give the 2010 RDX a freshened appearance.
While the acura RDX’s sport-minded chassis stays the same, the 2010 model options revised braking system components that deliver higher feel and enhanced durability. Additionally for 2010, the acura RDX receives several new standard interior features including a rear view digital camera system, digital compass, a pull handle to make closing the rear hatch simpler, auto-function headlights, ambient footwell lighting, a center console storage tray, improved cupholders, usb-port connectivity, and note function for radio. Moreover, the Acura RDX interior gets subtle changes to the leather, resulting in a richer, more premium look to the interior seating surfaces.
The new RDX 2010 is provided with a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine incorporating computer-controlled ‘intelligent’ i-vtec adjustment of the intake and exhaust valve actuation. The end result is an output of 240 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 260 pound-feet of torque at 4,500 rpm. Acura claims a city/highway fuel economy rating of 19/24 mpg (rdx fwd) and 17/22 mpg (rdx sh-awd).
Though a brand new six-speed automatic is likely to be fitted next year, the RDX retains its predecessor’s five-speed ‘box, full with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The one mechanical change for 2010 is the addition of a front-wheel drive model to the RDX range. Unfortunately, Acura did not have the FWD model available for our First Drive.

CNET – A nice-handling little SUV with helpful cabin tech features, the 2010 Acura RDX is suffering from an inefficient power train.
Autoblog – Unlike the automaker’s new TSX V6, where the changes had been largely restricted to the bits you don’t see, the opposite is true of the RDX. Acura’s cute ‘ute will get a mid-cycle facelift to bring it in-line with the rest of the Acura line-up – that means if you have not warmed up to Acura’s shield grille you might need to look elsewhere.
MarketWatch- We think the RDX proves that driving enjoyable does not necessarily take a back seat when you have to buy a sport utility. If you’re in the market, this SUV’s well worth a test drive.
Jalopnik – The new RDX isn’t just an unpleasant face although, it also will get decontented over the past version. Whereas the last RDX got here with ‘Super-Handling AWD’ only, the new version adds a front wheel drive model with the same engine motivating things. It ought to be faster, but it’ll never outrun the ugly, and with a base price of $32,520, we’d rather wait for a bus.
The 2010 RDX competes in an extremely crowded market, against the likes of the Honda CR-V, the Mitsubishi Outlander, and the Nissan Rogue. Somewhere in Acura headquarters, someone looked at all these other small SUVs, and decided to leap on the bandwagon, going for mass-market popularity versus a niche sports car. But the power train engineers appeared to be building a different car, and were most likely surprised to see their engine sitting between the high front wheels of an SUV.
