2010 Honda Pilot

The 2010 Pilot is one of Honda’s most popular sport utility vehicles on the market. The Honda Pilot is a crossover Suv designed for quality and durability, as well as functionality and comfort. Featuring unit body construction and a fully independent suspension, the Pilot provides more of a car-like driving experience with crisp handling and a smooth ride. The Honda Pilot will definitely prove more convenient than the typical SUV for those of you with frequent kid-cargo. There’s no clear winner between the Honda Pilot and the average SUV regarding hauling capacity.

The 2010 Pilot model has moved away from its previous generation’s look to offer a style that’s a bit more rugged. The new Honda Pilot is comfortable, roomy, and pretty quiet at a cruise. Front seat passengers have plenty of space, as you’d expect, but second and third row passengers won’t have reason to complain, either, thanks to plenty of head room and decent leg room in both positions. The 2010 Honda Pilot might have just enough trucklike ability, even though it has a carlike unibody design. Four-wheel-drive models can tow up to 4,500 pounds, though the optional four-wheel-drive system is more all-wheel drive, including a Lock mode good for getting through deep snow, mud, and the like at low speed. The Pilot is available with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive and in four trim levels: LX, EX, EX-L and Touring.

Front seat memory, as well as heated exterior mirrors with integrated turn signals, are both standard. Also, the liftgate is powered and can be opened at the touch of a button. Navigation is available only on top-line models, and the rear-seat DVD entertainment system available only on the top four trims.

The 2010 Pilot is a carryover from 2009 and offers quite a bit in the way of power and performance. The 2010 Honda Pilot derives its power from a 3.5-liter V6, which delivers 250 horsepower and enjoys the benefits of i-VTEC. It comes mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy is an EPA-estimated city/highway/combined fuel economy of 17/23/19 miles per gallon on two-wheel-drive models and 16/22/18 miles per gallon on four-wheel-drive models. All models are equipped with a standard towing receiver and a maximum tow rating of 4,500 pounds on 4WD models and 3,500 pounds on 2WD models.

Safety is enhanced by a standard tire pressure monitor, electronic stability control, and an upgraded airbag system. Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with traction control helps keep you on the road by detecting over- and understeer conditions and choosing to either brake the individual wheels, reduce throttle input, or both. Meanwhile, the Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure; front airbags; three-row side curtain airbags with rollover sensor; and front side airbags with passenger-side Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) keep you and all your occupants safe in the event of an accident, making it one of the safest vehicles you could drive.

The Honda Pilot price tag is often an important factor that contributes to the purchase of this mid size crossover SUV. This vehicle is a good choice of car for an individual or for a family that is looking for above average size and power in comparison with other cars on the road, but not for a massive SUV with a low gas mileage rating. The 2010 Honda Pilot is available with a starting price of $27895.00 but can reach prices of $40395.00 based on various packages, options, and your trim selection.

  • I’ve always wanted a Honda Pilot but I like the older models better, the 2010s look too much like the Jeep. If I wanted a Jeep I’d get one…

  • I think the Pilot is a pretty good deal. The interior from the pics above look pretty sweet and best of all it’s pretty affordable for its class. And since it’s a Honda, you know it’s dependable.

  • Honda has got the cylinder deactivation system, which makes it more power delivering. The ride is always firm and the tires don’t lose grip, be it on snow-clad streets, wet roads or muddy tracks or deserts! The Honda Pilot almost defies the laws of Inertia! This SUV will wade past the most difficult terrains with astuteness and dexterity seen never before in any other mid-sized affordable car! Though it looks a bit boxy, it is performance oriented!
