The Volvo XC60 is the first vehicle in a new generation of the contemporary crossover concept. The Volvo XC60 review mentioned that this car is a combination of a traditional city vehicle and an XC vehicle aimed for young, professional urban people with an active life. The Volvo XC60 is a car that has already carved out a solid market share in the premium sport cross-over segment. With its muscular curves and sharply contoured tail lamps, it attracts attention wherever it goes.

The new XC60 represents a slightly smaller addition to the existing stable of XC70 and XC90 crossover SUVs. This car is a new premium crossover from Volvo. Comfortable and practical, the XC60 may be the safest vehicle Volvo has ever built. The 2010 XC60 will have a new safety system called City Safety as standard equipment. It will officially be Volvos safest vehicle so far.

The 2010 Volvo XC60 gives fans of the Swedish brand a great way to step down from the more expensive seven-seat XC90 sport-ute. The XC60 crossover seats five and is stylish inside and out, with a classic Scandinavian theme inside. The 2010 Volvo XC60′s interior is also attractive, with a sleek dashboard design and Volvo’s trademark suspended center-stack panel. The Volvo XC60 review mentioned:  “It’s unfortunate that our test vehicle wasn’t fitted with the optional wood paneling for the center stack or the no-cost two-tone seats — combined, they make the XC60′s interior look warmer and more distinctive than those of other small luxury crossovers”.

The XC60 comes with Volvo’s new 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine. Based on the 3.2-liter V6 used in other Volvos, this engine adds a twin-scroll turbocharger and produces 281 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. This provides quick acceleration from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about 7.1 seconds. The XC60 refuses to loll around on windy roads and a strong level of grip is achieved thanks to a full-time all wheel-drive set up regulating power to all corners. Steering is assisted by a clever speed-sensitive power steering system that offers liberal assistance at low speeds and is reduced as speed increases.

The 2010 Volvo XC60 comes with City Safety, a technology that can help distracted drivers avoid or mitigate low-speed collisions. By measuring the car’s speed and distance to the vehicle ahead, City Safety calculates the braking force needed when approaching another vehicle.

  • Interiors of the car is too good. The city safety feature is also useful in heavy traffic on busy city roads.
