The Cruze Chevrolet 2011 is a compact sedan with performance, style, practicality and dependability in one taut and handsome package. It replaces the Chevy Cobalt in North America and the Daewoo-built Chevy Lacetti/Nubira in Europe. The new Cruze car has redefined value with a dynamic exterior and interior styling, plus a good list of standard features.
Form outside view, this new Chevys Cruze takes styling cues from the brand new Malibu, and guarantees to be a much sharper car than the current Cobalt. Chief designer Taewan Kim says that the new Cruze’s design is supposed to be “bold”, not evolutionary. We desired to take a giant step ahead, make strong design assertion for Chevrolet products across the world.
The new Cruze 2011 is a four-door sedan that comes in LS, LT, and LTZ trim levels. The LS has a 138-horsepower 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine. The LT and LTZ have a 140-horsepower turbocharged 1.4-liter 4-cylinder engine. A 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission is available. All Cruze models will get six-speed gearboxes – either manual or automatic. The turbo Cruze is supposed to score an impressive 40 mpg EPA highway rating.
The chevrolet Cruze global compact sedan has earned the highest rating of five stars from the european new car assessment program (euroncap), which launched its latest safety ratings today. There are available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, curtain side airbags, and front and rear side airbags. The LS and LT have 16-inch wheels; 17-inch wheels are standard on the LTZ; and 18-inch wheels are optional on the LT and LTZ. Among the available features are a wireless cell-phone link and navigation system.
The 2011 Chevrolet Cruze should provide comfort and space and build quality never before seen in this segment at this price. A U.S. model of the base Cruze price with manual transmission should begin with an MSRP of around $15,500 (unless some way is found to sell it for the magical $14,999), and then about $1,500-$2,000 more will be tacked on for the LS, LT and LTZ trims.
Here is what the press has to say concerning the coming 2011 Chevy Cruze:
Motor Trend – Throughout the first released test drive of the European Cruze, Motor Trend notes, “You’ll be able to certainly feel the solidity of the body, as it traverses rough surfaces with nary a shake, and less audible clang than in a lot of the Japanese competitors. This despite the reasonably firm spring settings in the European-spec version. The firmish springs make the journey a bit lively over rough roads, however the damping is well-judged provided you restrict your speed. Which you probably will.
Autoblog – Born from Chevy’s global design and engineering team, the Cruze will sport lots of the exterior elements. We have seen on current concepts, so expect lots of angular lines, a high belt-line and a squat greenhouse. Based on our brief experience driving a Chevy Volt powertrain mule (Cruze and Volt share common DNA), the Chevrolet Cruze must be more refined than the outgoing Cobalt by an order of magnitude, with a roomier interior and much better-executed passenger cabin.
Consumer Guide – Look for greater use of lighter materials despite their higher cost, as weight is the enemy of fuel economy and a car’s carbon footprint, not to mention performance.
BusinessWeek – If GM can pull off that mileage, it will surpass the standard gasoline, non-hybrid choices available on the market right now from Honda and Toyota – Fit and Yaris.
Edmunds – Among the financial mess that has become General Motors, we’re told that the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze is coming our way, one more piece of GM’s constantly improving product portfolio. Despitedrama, the Cruze Chevrolet refuses to get sidetracked.

I really like the interior design. With that said, nothing else impresses me. The fuel economy is so-so for the class, the feature content is laughable even by economy car standards, the 1.8L I4 is mediocre, and the pricing isnt that competitive, either.
