McLaren supercar has set a brand new MP4-12C McLaren to challenge the champion Formula 1 Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz match racing on the highway. This fastest supercar, was able to shot up to 320 kph. This supercar is very light as a result of it is made of carbon fiber composite and is claimed capable of driving up to 400 kph or equal to the McLaren F1 – 390 kph. This supercar acceleration takes only a 0-200 kph in under 10 seconds. Instead, time stopped 200 to 0 kph less than 5 seconds.

On the 2011 McLaren MP4-12C’s heart lies a carbon fibre monocoque (a tub light enough for 2 males to lift), a structure that McLaren insists means new standards in handling, ride, performance, safety, economy and practicality. Behind the rear seats sits a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 with 600bhp, that is driven through a McLaren seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, controlled via steering-wheel mounted paddles.

McLaren Automotive claims that “12C is the most environment friendly of V8 super cars, most drivable high-performance sports car on the earth”. The engine revs to 8,500rpm; 80 per cent of the torque is available below 2,000 rpm. Though no official fuel economy figures are available yet, the car should end up with a CO2 g/km emissions figure somewhere in the 200s.

McLaren cars claims the car has more power per gram of CO2 than any sports car that is not totally electric; not so surprising given that almost all hybrids think about economy rather than power, but impressive nonetheless.

If you would like MP4-12C V8supercars in your garage, arrange funds of about 229,200 U.S. dollars. And, quick in the race for UK-based company is only producing MP4-12C of 1,000 units per year and will start subsequent year.

“We know this can be a competitive market. We want to be a part of this market” said McLaren Automotive boss, Ron Dennis at the launch MP4-12C Friday (19/3) yesterday, accompanied by two F1 drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button. Both have the chance to unveil MP4-12C prototype that has the color orange.

Total investment for this project to reach 670 million to 750 million pounds sterling. Dennis hopes to master 4 percent market share in its class and the capital return within four to five years.

Managing Director of McLaren Automotive Antony Sheriff said he would sell the MP4-12C in the 35 dealers who’re ready to be built in North America, Europe, Middle East, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and Australia. In the Middle East market, the sheriff hopes, McLaren 12C may be offered 10 to 20 percent of the total volume of the world.

The MP4-12C McLaren 2011 faces stiff competition from the new, well-received Ferrari 458, which McLaren admits is the benchmark, as well as the Porsche 911 Turbo, Bentley Continental GT and Aston Martin DB9.
